How can I make a post pasting html code in this forum without it rendering?

I'm trying to paste some code into a post and it's rendering. I want to show the code not the live rendered version. Frustrating!!!!!! Thanks for any help

There's no other way to post printable (escaped) HTML reliably.

    Hello I'm not sure I'm following. I don't see an advanced editor available.

    Open the thread in its own tab (click the thread name). Then click Actions » Edit.
