How can I link the Marketo lead owner to Sugar lead owner in Marketo?

I want to ensure that lead owners get activity alerts regarding their leads, but the only way to do this is to connect Lead Owner Email in Marketo with Lead Owner Email in Sugar. Any advice on how to do this? Thanks!

Hi Caitlin,

We do not currently support synching user records from SOAP integrations.  You'll need to set up custom lead owner fields to pass this information over to Marketo from Sugar.

Thanks for answering. Could you clarify though, how I would do this? I'd create a custom field in Marketo - Lead Owner - and then have to go through all the leads and assign them to lead owners? And only then can I sync this up with Sugar?

As a custom field, you would be able to load this data from the Marketo side if you needed to(through a list import for example).  Once this is done the data can be pulled into sugar via SOAP or pushed from Sugar into the custom field.

So I would need to import a list of 12,000+ leads in order to apply the custom field?

I'm just wondering why I can't run a smart campaign. The Smart List would be SugarCRM Email is not empty, and the flow would be SugarCRM email is Lead Owner Email.

I basically just want to define Lead Owner email as the same as SugarCRM email. This is not possible without re-importing all my leads with lead owners associated with them?
