Google Adwords Integration - Google Adwords, Marketo and Salesforce

It really is time we voted up Google Adwords connectivity. Anybody today using google Adwords should be measuring the success through to sale especially when blessed with Marketo and Salesforce. Assigning sales dollars to keywords, landing pages and more is crucial if you want to measure electronic success today

One massive advantage I have found is matching a keyword or phrase from a lead that came in by telephone through the data being available in Marketo. So many leads are captured through Marketo prior to the telephone call which is followed by an email communication that often connects the dots on the lead.

Currently getting this connection of the adwords and web interaction connected into Salesforce is a nightmare.

Any word on whether this will be able to be customized by workspace?  The roll-out in March included one adwords account for everything, and in our organization, each workspace has different adwords accounts.  It would be great to be able to use this functionality and keep data clean.

@Matt, you can either integrate a standalone AdWords account OR an AdWords MCC account (umbrella account for multiple child accounts). Here are the instructions for how to set up the integration for an MCC account.

Not sure if others feel this way but the recent adwords integration seems to be one-way (Marketo to Adwords). It doesn't bring information like 'keyword' to the lead object in Marketo. In short, I'm looking for an alternative to the process Marketo is proposing in the link below. Marketo's process seems overly complicated for something many clients would want.

I agree.  When we used Pardot, there was a simple connector that connects Pardot to Adwords.  Within Pardot, you can view the Adwords campaigns, see all the leads that are associated with the campaign, and calculate the true ROI (new leads from Adwords not just existing leads clicking on the ads multiple times).  It wasn't perfect, but the key is, it's a simple connection.  Marketo LaunchPoint to Adwords is one-way from Marketo to Adwords.  So we have to do MAJOR workaround just to track leads that come from Adwords source.  This involved custom URLs with utm parameters and scripts to read the utm parameters and hidden fields, etc.

Can we just simply see the leads that came from Adwords and be able to calculate ROI??
