Gmail Add-in: potentially creating duplicates?

We use salesforce.com, we just implemented Marketo and we are about to start using this add-in. We are scared about creating duplicate leads or contacts, since it creates a new lead automatically each time marketo doesn't find the email address in the system. Any tips on how to address this potential issue?

if marketo can't find the unique email address (does not exist in both SFDC and Marketo), it will create a new record which is what you want.

It wont create a duplicate, but will append any extra information gatherered on the form or from the list loaded.

And if the record in SFDC and Marketo does not have an email address, it will create a new one, correct?
