France email Dear Madame or Monsieur

Question

Is there a way to identify male versus female contacts in Marketo?  When  sending emails to people you don't know in France it's impolite to use their first name  so you need to address them as Madame or Monsieur. However, that requires that you be able to identify each contact as male or female and have Marketo apply the right token.  Thoughts???

You may want to use (or create) the "Salutation" field SFDC and Marketo, and pull those in as tokens.Dear {{lead.Salutation}} {{lead.First name}},

As Ray said, there should be a Salutation field in your CRM. Or you could create it in Marketo.

The challenge is going through the databse to update the gender salutation and then updating your forms to include the Salutation so the lead can enter it in.
