Formula Field in SFDC on Marketo Form

Does anyone have experience using a SFDC formula field on a Marketo form as a dropdown?

We have 2 fields in Salesforce (one is a lookup field which Marketo obviously can't read and one is a regular picklist) that are for the same information. Because of a lot of sales ops reasons, we have to keep the lookup field. We are trying to find a way to reconcile the information in the 2 fields, and our Salesforce Admin says the only way to do this is with a formula field. My question is, can we use the formula field on a Marketo form as a picklist?

I don't think so.  What you can do is use that field in the form and then in the form configuration wizard set that field to select type and enter the options in the pick list
