Form Fills & Marketo Web API

Is there a way to have leads whose information is communicated to Marketo via the API captured as a "Form Fill"? The activity log in Marketo currently shows that information as "Web Service API".

May be you can Post a Marketo web form via http post instead of SOAP API if you want Marketo to capture the data as a 'Form Fill'. Do you need this because you have smart lists listening for the new records and trigger some actions? May be you can change those smart list conditions based on some flag fields etc which you can set via SOAP API.
