Question

Form 2.0 field values from CRM

We use Salesforce linked to Marketo with normal schema synchronization between the two.  Using Forms 2.0 I am adding fields like Country (as "Select" field type) but I'm not seeing the CRM values populated in the drop down as I'd expected.  Is it necessary to manually add those values (certainly not good form a data management perspective) or am I missing something?
Thanks
Ben

Yes, you will have to add those values manually.  You can obtain them from your SFDC administrator or view Marketo's list here

Thanks for the reply... So every form stores its own list of values for each Select box?!  That's just going to lead to a potentially un-manageable denormalization.

Am I making it up, or did the original Marketo forms just populate from the values in the CRM if you didn't override them?

Honestly, I didn't have too much experience working with forms until forms 2.0 came out, so I'm unsure how it worked with the previous version. But after you create the first form 2.0 with the countries added as picklist values, you can clone that form so you don't have to enter in the country values each time.

It may be easy to create/ clone them  - but what if they change?  Drop down values should be centrally managed from the CRM - this just is not what I expected.

Maybe this is due to Marketo not having a Picklist field type? I know that in our CRM the Country value is a picklist, but when I view the field in Marketo the field type is a String field.  This may be worth a support case submission to do some further digging into this.
