Question

Foreign language characters not supported in Marketo?

Hi everyone!

I'm wondering if anyone else has had any issues with specific characters like “ä”, “ü” letters not being recognized in Marketo after uploading a lead list? Having to go in and update the letters manually is not exactly the most efficient way to do this, so I'm wondering if anyone has found a work around to automatically update a setting in Marketo to include different languages outside of English so those characters will be recognized across the board.

Thanks!

Alex - all you need to do is export your Excel list as a Unicode .txt file.  Then when importing into Marketo, select "tab-delimited" as the file type.

You need to save as UTF8.

  1. Save as CSV file.
  2. Open in Notepad
  3. Save As CSV with UTF8 (near ok button)
  4. should work fine.

I create a file that fix Data Bases also it save it directly into UTF8 and CSV,
