First Email Send

When I was going through my LP training for my first email send,  they set up my "first email"  as a "default" program, not an email program - how can I now change it to be an email program so I can send out an email?

Hi Lacy, no need to change it unless you are running A/B tests. If you are, use the Move feature to put the assets in the Email Program. Make sure the Default Program channel aligns to your campaign and the progression statuses you want. Although Marketo defines their programs here Understanding Programs - Marketo Docs - Product Docs we only run Email Programs as local programs within a Default Program. The Default Program could be Email Blast, Webinar, Tradeshow etc. but this way we can track progression statuses to the actual campaign and the A/B tests within the local Email Program.

All you need to do is add

  1. Smart Campaign to the Program as a local asset
  2. any email to this Program
  3. Setup the smart list on the campaign, flow step = Send Email + Change Status=Member, and Schedule it.
