Find duplicates where duplicate contains

It would be nice to have the ability to be able to say "Show me all duplicate email addresses where at least one of the duplicates has 'x' value."

For example, here is my database:

Email AddressSFDC Type
JonB@gmail.comContact
JonB@gmail.com
TimmyT@yahoo.comLead
TimmyT@yahoo.comContact
GinaG@msn.comLead
GinaG@msn.com

My smart list filters would be:

Duplicate Fields: is Email Address

Duplicate Contains: SFDC Type: is empty

The result would spit out the duplicates where at least one of the duplicates has an empty SFDC Type, like so:

Email AddressSFDC Type
JonB@gmail.comContact
JonB@gmail.com
GinaG@msn.comLead
GinaG@msn.com

Our Possible Duplicates system smart list is at 50,000+ people so to be able to narrow some things down would be very helpful. If there's a better way to do this by all means let me know!

This is an excellent point. One cannot search duplicate where only one of the duplicates in the pair meets a certain criteria.

We would need to have constraints that enable to query the database for duplicates where "one of the duplicates ..." and have all filtering capabilities.

A very good first step would be "Find duplicates where one of the duplicates is member of Smart list". This would in turn enable all type of sophisticated queries in the smart list and would make the job.
