Filtering spam leads

Hello All,

We get a fair number of lead form submittals that are spam (not a unique problem, I'm sure).

What we have been doing is attempting to automotically delete these leads using Marketo. The spammers had been using google exclusively as "Company name". So, since Google would never actually require our services, I created a flow that deleted any new leads with company name "google". This has worked very well.

Recently, spammers have taken a new approach. The commonality we see now is using a url as their "last name". Since no real lead would do this, I would like to set up a flow that deletes a new lead if last name contains "http://". I set up this flow and activated it, however it does not seem to be working.

Does anyone have any insights or possible solutions? Thanks!

It's your filter logic.  Looks like your using the "Use ALL Filters".  You'll want to change this accordingly and use custom logic.

Try using: 1 or 2 or 3

This should work.

Can you provide a screenshot of your Smart List filters?

I was having a lot of trouble with bots auto filling our website's contact us for, so I searched and found a useful article on LinkedIn about how to filter junk leads from your web forms:

Hope this helps anyone else who has this problem!
