Filling Out Forms, Syncing Information with Salesforce.com

When somone fills out a form and the email address entered into the form is not the same as the one in Salesforce, is there a trigger or a way to update Salesforce with the one they registered with?

Unfortunately no.   There is an Idea for this The ability to match a secondary email address to existing records, rather than creating a new record. - please vote for it.

Yeah, all you can do right now is to merge the lead, with the merge function.
