Field value changed incorrectly. How to revert to old value?

For some reason that I'm still trying to figure out, Marketo changed the last name field of about 140 leads back on Aug 5. (I believe it had to do with an list import but still not sure). I've identified the impacted leads but wondering if there's a way to revert to the old value without doing it manually one by one?

Hey Alisa, unfortunately, I believe there's no way to do this automatically. One thing I'd recommend in the Admin > Field Management settings, is to block field updates from list imports on fields such as this where you wouldn't want them updated erroneously.

I would recommend Exporting the leads into Excel, And do a mass export of your contacts from your CRM and do a v-lookup on the email address... Find the leads, match them up and merge the name fields. Then import the updated records back into Marketo

As long as the names are still in salesforce ( or your CRM) you should be able to get them back.

Best of luck!

Thank you Stephen. Unfortunately since Marketo is synced with SFDC the last names are incorrect in SFDC too!

I would contact Marketo for a Backup of Leads. They should be able to provide you with maybe last weeks leads backup or even last months!?

Once you get that backup you should be able to do the v-lookups and whatnot :) Or just do a mass import and update!

Thanks Stephen and Dory! I will try both of your suggestions!
