Extracting CTV links from test emails

Hi everyone,

I use the CTV links in the test email sends for personalistion testing and was wondering if there was an easier way to extract the CTV links from the emails.

At the moment, if I have 4 versions I need to send tests for, I'll send a personalised test to myself of each version, click the CTV link in the email, copy that link from the browser and paste it into an Excel sheet to send to the team. This becomes quite time consuming when I need to get CTV links for 30 different versions.

Is there an easier or more automated way of grabbing these links?

Thanks

Whats a CTV link?

The Click to view online link. It makes it easier to view amends as all that's required is to click the link rather than send another test.

Got it.  In general, if these links are using the mkto personal id for leads then you won't be able to produce them in any other format.  If they use explicit tokens like "industry=construction" then it would be easy to produce each URL.

If you share the four URLs I'll see if I can help further.

The links pull in the Marketo token for each campaign and lead - http://web-address/emailWebview?mkt_tok=##MKT_TOK##

I think that because the Marketo token is unique in each case, I won't be able to produce the URL without sending a test to begin with.

Yes that sounds right.

What are you looking to test specifically?  Can you use the preview window with different lead examples to get the same result?

I'm just looking to test the creative, but it has to go out to a group of people to review. So rather than send the group 30 different tests every time, it's easier to send them the click to view online links to review any amends that have been made.

I'm trying to understand why there would be 30 different versions: what is different in each version?

It could be anything - text, images, links. The emails are quite targeted, so for example if a recipient fell into the Regional segment, they would see different creative from those that fall into the Metro segment.

The easiest approach will be to provide each reviewer with login access to preview the emails, and then create a sample list with one lead for each segment.  This article provides more information on previewing the dynamic content, near the bottom:

Unfortunately that's not an option as access is extremely restricted and only allowed for a select group of people.

Looks like I'll have to keep doing it manually. Thanks for your help.
