Exporting extremely slow?

I'm trying to export our entire database out of Marketo so I can slice and dice some data (there are reasons I prefer to not do this out of our CRM). However, we have 444K contacts and it's taken 20 minutes so far to only get through 10K.

Is the system really this slow?

This is pretty typical, we have a database of around 200K. Best tip I've seen so far is to set the export to run over the weekend, and do it in Firefox, there is an addon you can get that will refresh firefox every so often so your computer won't go to sleep and stop the export:

Wow - a weekend gig all for an export!! :)

Thanks Richard - helpful to know. We are former Eloqua users and while the switch to Marketo was worth it, there are certain reporting capabilities we miss for sure that Marketo just doesn't have.

Thanks again!

Try to only take out the columns you need, that will help.

I would agree that some of the reporting capabilities are weak with Marketo, have you tried out any of the analyzers yet?

Richard, did exporting 200,000 leads work for you? I thought there was a limit on how much Marketo could export and that it was much less than that.

To be honest we haven't done a full export for a while now, likely before we crossed over the 200K limit. When we did the export we didn't do the entire export at once we did it segmented in case there were any issues leaving it open over the weekend.
