Exclude a group of people with certain lead attribute

Hi there, I want to exclude a group of people who are in a certain smart list. When I do that however it seems to be excluding those people, but INCLUDING everyoe else who ISNT in the smart list.

My smart list has the criteria - lead attribute - mailing list - true. I prefer using the smart list bc its a regularly used list.

I'm having a little trouble with the logic!

Christine,

Can you post a screenshot? Did you set the smart list to ANY instead of ALL?

If you just say Member of Smart List NOT IN "X", then it will return everyone except people with X, which usually means the entire database.
