Hi,

Does Marketo have the functionality to include emoticons in a subject line.

See images below for example

Thanks

Hi Nicole

I suggest you can use emoticons as text symbol.

You can copy them from here - http://text-symbols.com/ or http://collarme.forumotion.com/t16-letters-numbers-and-symbols
Currently, they are properly supported in Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo.

Also, I suggest not to use more than 1-2 emoticons in the subject line as that may affect inbox delivery for the campaign.

I would suggestion caution. Marketo can handle emoticons. However not all email systems support them (including intermediary transporting servers ) and some spam filters may set high scores, occasionally exceeding the threshold and flagging as spam.

A good reference to consider:

Hi Nicole,

I'm curious to know if you ended up trying this? I would be interested to see if it did cause spam or unsubscribe issues for you, as I would like to give it a try myself.

I'm wondering this myself. Melanie, did you end up testing using emoticons in subject lines?
