Emojis Within Subject Lines

I see an older Idea posted here discussing this, but no comments or follow up

I copy-pasted an emoji into the subject line, but once "Previewing" the email - it disappears. Also, when sending a test to myself, it also doesn't show.

Am I doing something wrong, or does Marketo not support Emojis?

If not, give it to us!

Marketo has 2 other ideas asking for the same feature, but it marked 2 of them as category "Already has it (Partially)"; that categorization is inaccurate.

The ask here is for Marketo to support UTF-8 Version 8.0 character sets throughout the product, not just in subject lines but in the email body as well. Currently that does not work.

Some other ESPs are perfectly capable of sending emails with Emoji UTF-8 characters. Here are a few:

Campaign Monitor: How To Use Symbols in Email Subject Lines | Campaign Monitor

Mail Chimp: How We Set Up Emoji Support for Subject Lines | MailChimp Email Marketing Blog

This feature is also supported by Hubspot and Pardot.

This is one of 3 ideas asking for the same thing, that should be merged in the ideas portal by Marketo Product management. When the product management team marks ideas as "Already Has it (partially)", it prevents customers from up-voting the idea.

Here is a video demonstrating the lack of UTF-8 character set support in Marketo:

So basically, Marketo does not support it?

@Justin Cooperman gives the reason for the status in this Idea: https://nation.marketo.com/ideas/7465#comment-22156. They sort of have the functionality but not fully.
