Email templates change periodically by themselves

I work with HTML templates and every so often, I'll come in one day and the template/email will render differently than the last time I sent myself a test.

One time, I sent myself tests on a Friday afternoon for a Sunday email send out. The email was finalized and looked great. I went in to double check Sunday morning and found that spacing/positioning had changed for some items.

This has been happening for months now and the best I can come up with is that Marketo goes through an update where it reads html differently or some html property/practice becomes invalid. Anyone else experiencing this?

I've not observed this myself.  If you are viewing these in different email clients, they may render differently.  You may want to use a tool like Litmus or Email on Acid to see how your emails will render in a variety of clients.

So are the email changes occuring in the email client or in the Marketo Email Editor?

I've had a lot of issues getting the editor to stick with the intended line spacing...

Otherwise, I agree with Elliott that it could be differences between email viewers. Maybe you can ask Support if you have good examples.

I am using Email on Acid. The example I'm referring to is sending myself a test on Friday (say to my personal Outlook 2013 inbox) and when I send another test on Sunday, the spacing/positioning of some things will have changed.  

I'm not talking about the email appearing different in different email clients; I know that's true. I'm not checking and testing with my Outlook one day and then Yahoo the next. The issue is that the email will change while the code remains untouched.

Thanks for the clarification Kevin.  Have you compared the received email HTML between the two different renderings of the emails and determined what in the HTML is changing that is causing the different renderings?

Hm... you mean view the two in a browser and then View Source, go through by each line? No. I can give that a try next time, but if the two codes are identical like I suspect, any suggestions? I don't think Marketo will make edits to the code by itself. But then again, this IS an odd situation.
