Email Send Limits

I would like to setup an email send limit filter. For example, I don't want to send a lead more than 1/day and 3/week. What is the best practice for implementing this type of system?

There are a couple of other threads on this one too.

I usually create a smart list system where I bring in:

Smart List = Leads Received Email within 1 day.

Was Sent Email IS ANY
In Past 1 Day
At least once

If you are using a great naming system you can also constrain this to specific kinds of email like Promo emails vs Operational, or Invitations vs. Nurture.

Was Sent Email CONTAINS "Webinar"
In Past 7 Days
At least 3 times

Then you add this smart list to your standard Suppression List for all of your campaigns.

I have a campaign setup that just marks when someone gets an email. So anytime they get an email, they are added to a series of lists, then after a day they're removed from (recieved email yesterday), then after 6 more days, they're removed from (recieved email this week), etc 2 weeks & 1 month.

Then in my nurture campaigns I have a check to see they haven't gotten an email in the past 2 weeks before sending them a nurture email.

Josh & Adam,
That's what I was thinking, thank you very much. I'm still learning my way around Marketo.
