email send auto engage status

During mkto training we did a campaign where we had to manually set the user to engaged on email click. Isn't this automatically set?

No...nor should it. Engaged can mean different things to different people. Personally I don't view an open as a success step; they must fill out a form or download content to call it successful :)

sent click open are tracked with email reports. does it make sense to have these as part of channel status?

i have a email send channel (default), there are only two statuses: member and engage? This doesnt seem right, but I dont want to edit a default channel. Any recommendations?

I am thinking it should have been sent -> opened -> clicked -> (e.g.) download [success*] -> sign-up [success]
