Email Programs hiding assets

So I'm playing around with email programs a little and I couldn't help but notice that the email program doesn't seem to be willing to look for emails outside of itself.

I can't find emails from Marketing Activities or Design Studio, but once I move the asset into the email program I can use it.

Is this intentional or a bug?
