Email Program - Additional Sends?

The email program is great. We used it to send out a blast and excluded anyone who hadn't gotten an email in the last 24 hours. Now that a few days have gone by, I want to send it out again to anyone who now qualifies for the campaign. Does anyone know if there is a way to resend the same email program?

You can just clone the program and change your smart list to exclude anyone who had received the last email. - Jeff

Hi Laurie,

If you set up the qualification rules that each Lead could only run through the campaign flow once, you can simply re-run the program without re-sending to everyone. It would only send an email to leads that haven't already run through the program. You can check the qualification rules on the status tab under summary in the Program.

@Jeff - Thanks, but I was hoping to do it in the same program so that I could see all the results in one view.

@Conor - Would love to do that. How do you do this in the new Email Programs?

Here's the help article with detailed instructions - you just need to goto the Schedule tab of a Smart Campaign and then Edit Settings. You will have the option to have the lead flow through the program once, once every X days/weeks/months, or every time.

Edit: I meant Smart Campaign not Program

@Conor, you cannot do this as part of an Email Program since there is no SCHEDULE tab, like traditional smart campaigns contain. You can only select a date and time within the control panel.

Dan is correct, but I actually do email sends using the Default Program Type because I find it to be more flexible for my purposes.

@Conor - I agree.  The Email Program is just too restrictive and is really for sending out a one-time email blast.  Even the reporting is too basic.  I want to be able to click and see the data/leads behind those charts.

You can see a bit more detail as to who opened, clicked and unsubscribed by adding smart campaigns to the Email Program that update the program status when those events occur.  Then in the Member tab of the Email Program, you can see their current status.

Elliott - correct, and that's what we've been doing to get the additional insight.  I've basically come to the point where it just makes sense to use traditional programs for an email send due to the extra effort involved to get the information we need as well as the flexibiity for things like sending out multiple waves.  Not to mention some of the bugs and inconsistent reporting data we've been experiencing with Email Programs.
