Email Link performance showing link clicks for links not in emails

I wanted to check how links were performing for a particular campaign and I noticed that the email link report & the marketo activity log are showing clicks for links that are not in the email.

Example: I have two links in an email: Link 1 & Link 2. For a random lead, I check the activity log and in addition to clicking Link 1 Marketo is also attributing a separate click to a new link  (Link 3) which isn't in the email. I've checked the html itself and the new link does not exist anywhere in the emails that Marketo registered the clicks for.

Has this happened to anyone?

Ah, but did it exist in the email at the time it was sent to the user... that's the question. And not easy to answer given the only evidence is the Activity Log.
