Email Invalid Cause: User Unknown

Can anyone shed some light on what on this means? I have a list of leads and some are checked off as "email invalid" with "user unkown" listed as the email invalid cause. I'm unclear as to what this means. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

User Unknown bounce usually means the destination e-mail box no longer exists. It could be that someone has left a company or there is a typo in the e-mail address.
