email do not understand that lead.Token value is html when field type is text area

Hello,

Is there a way to use a field type "text area" with HTML in it and get it understood within email through the lead.token please?

I've tested it but it sounds that my value is not considered as html. I'm trying to convert this field within a velocity script but I can not find the right command for converting it.

My field value is <li><a href...</li><li>...</li>
