Email Click Heat Map

Hi All,

Is there a function, or workaround to producing an email heat map in Marketo? I've run my Email Link Performance report that provides me with net clicks per URL, however, in my email the same URL is used in multiple locations. Is there a way to segment each click by URL location within an email?

You could start tagging your URLs with querystrings to separate them, i.e.

http://yourwebsite.com/?link_location=banner

http://yourwebsite.com/?link_location=section_1

Like Jason said, I will typically tag links when I have the same link multiple times in an email. Anything after a ? can be picked up as a query string.

Hi. Stumbled upon this post, as I would like to get some data on where recipients are clicking. Do you know if these work with Google Analytics UTM codes?

Hey Jack, the main thing is that you want to ensure that the links have something different about them. So, UTM codes probably won't do much for determining which links within the actual email were clicked, unless they have different UTM codes.
