Email Blast Programs - setting the Program Statuses

The "Email Blast" program has a number of statuses like Email Delivered, Email Opened, etc. Will Marketo automatically set these or do we need Smart Campaigns to set them?

Hey Scott,
If you're using the Email Program Marketo, will automatically set the status to "Member" but anything else will require you to set up Smart Campagins - https://community.marketo.com/MarketoDiscussionDetail?id=90650000000PlAYAA0

I am not referring to the Email program. I am referring to one called "Email Blast - Basic" that I am using. I think it's a default one because I don't remember creating it.

Actually, this is one of the default Channels in Marketo (even though it's in the tags section, it's not considered a tag).  And yes, you will need to manually create the appropriate smart campaigns to track progression through that channel.
