Email Blast Brought Down Our Corporate Website

We sent out a large email blast to over 26K people and during the first half hour it went out and recieved a few thousand opens our corporate website went down.  Has anyone experienced this same issue or know what might have caused this?

We're planning on doing a similar email blast next week and would like to prevent this from happening again.

Thanks!

How is your Marketo form/landing page set up? As Marketo hosts your Landing pages/Marketo forms. Are you using a iFrame set up?

Overall, that's not a SUPER large send, so that's impressive it brought down your site. Did you check in with your web hosting company to see if anything occured on their end? I've sent out to over 100K leads, and never experienced a crash on my websites, and I was using iFrames for forms and had a bunch of marketo landing pages linked on my site.

Sounds like either a really poor web host or a coincidence. I would check with your hosting provider to see if they can give you some feedback.

Melissa,

I'd check with the web hosting service, but I doubt that the email blast brought the website down - think it's just a coincidence?

I've done 100K plus email blasts, never experienced a problem. Like Kirsten said, check with your hosting comapny.
