Hi All,

 

Quick question:

 

We have created a custom person field in marketo called "App code".

 

Then we have imported a datalist with the App code values for all the registrants for a Tradeshow.

The task at hand: This app code value should auto populate based on which registrant from the imported list is receiving the email. Each registrant has a unique app code value. Apprently the registrants use this app code as an invite code to log into a different application.

 

In the HTML email: I am using {{lead.App Code:default=TBD}}. I sent a sample proof from marketo to one of the registrants that was imported with the app code info previously. Ideally the appropriate app code should have populated for her once she recieved the sample proof in her outlook inbox, but this is not happening. She is seeing the default value 'TBD' instead.

 

Any suggestions/ideas as to why this is not working?

Just wanted to add that a sample send will populate lead tokens when you use this advanced option:

 

 


This doesn’t fully work for Velocity {{my.tokens}}, though. I try to to avoid it because of the possible false positives — and false negatives — once you switch to Velocity-land!

Don’t use Send Sample to test personalized emails. Use real Send Email or Send Alert.
