Duplicate leads with static lists and salesforce

Hi everyone,

I have the following problem. I've used static list to import some leads, but when I did the sync with salesforce, those leads are now duplicates. Using the same e-mail address.

So, I have for example two ID number for 1 lead and the same information, but the source for one is a static list and the other one has source salesforce.

How I can avoid to have duplicates when I use static lists and salesforce?

Thank you in advance.

I suspect she uploaded them to Marketo first, then turned on the sync with SFDC.

Marketo does not dedupe records that come in from SFDC.

You have two options:

  1. delete the leads associated to the static list import - these are definitely Marketo Only. You can modify a smart list to look at Member of List=X and SFDC Type IS  EMPTY to be sure.
  2. Merge the records manually or with a tool.

Hey Adriana,

Who did you sync the records too in Salesforce? This doesn't happen typically so something must have happened on the Salesforce side most likely. Can you describe your process in detail and how you discovered that duplicates were created, please?

Hi Josh,

Thank you for your answer. Do you know what tool can I use to merge leads?

Thank you!
