Does the CNAME in sandbox need to be different from Prod?

Hi, Setting up new sandbox and prod. Do we need to setup different email/landing page CNAMES in Sandbox and PROD? or can they be the same?

Example:

Sandbox:

  • For our landing
pages, IT will need to add a DNS Entry (CNAME) for [LandingPageCNAME1].[CompanyDomain].com,
         pointing to [AccountString].mktoweb.com.
  • For our
tracking links in email, need to add add a DNS Entry (CNAME) for [EmailTrackingCNAME1].[CompanyDomain].com,
         pointing to [MktoTrackingLink].

Production:

  • For our landing
pages, IT will need to add a DNS Entry (CNAME) for [LPCNAME2].[CompanyDomain].com,
         pointing to [AccountString2].mktoweb.com.
  • For our
tracking links in email, need to add add a DNS Entry (CNAME) for [ETCNAME2].[CompanyDomain].com,
         pointing to [MktoTrackingLink2].

Thanks,

Vibha.

Yes, they do. They are two different CNAMEs that need to point to two different places. One CNAME can't resolve to two subdomains.

Certainly they need to be different.  How else could you access assets on each one?
