does marketo save information in a hidden field?

I am about to hide several fields that have been active and have information stored for several leads. When I hide the fields, will Marketo remember the information that is stored in those fields so that if I unhide them the information will be restored in the lead records?

I believe the information will be retained regardless of whether the field is shown or hidden from layouts. You'll only lose information if you delete fields.

Charlie is right. The ability to hide fields is only an administrative use for forms. Other than that, they are like any other field.

The field will continue to store data in the background, also if the field is in Sync with a CRM it will continue to sync updates in the background (assuming that it has the required access on CRM side.)
