Does every field in a form have be a field in Marketo?

I am trying to create a form for leads who request a customized product. I want them to be able to select one or more of 9 available topics so sales can have a better idea what they are interested in.

How should I go about this? Do I have to create a new field for each topic? I did create the text filed and added the selection on the form builder.

When I test the form, the alert that is emailed to my team shows just the number 1 instead of the topics I selected.

I also noticed there a Custom Grouping of Fields, but could not find it. Is this available on Spark?

Any info or best practices help! Thanks!

Hi Denise,

Do you have the 'Allow multiple Selections' option checked under the 'Field Specific options for that field?
To see it, just click on the form field in the Marketo Form Designer.

You may want to check it, and Apply Change and try your flow again.

Thank you Rajesh, it was very helpful.

So the "allow multiple selections" is only available when select is the input type.

I wanted to "allow multiple selections" using a checkbox. Any ideas how I might be able to do this? 

I will probably have to create a each checkbox as a filed in marketo right?

Any suggestions are helpful!
