Does archiving segmentations free up your limit of 25?

I've searched the boards and found a previous thread on this and someone said they'd test and return an answer. They did not. would someone please comment how this works. We have maxed out our segments and I don't want to remove any references to these segments and delete if I don't have to.

If you want to keep all 25 and you're fully utilizing those segments, you can request for Marketo to increase your segmentation limit. You will have to submit a business case on why you need more segments. The caveat to that is there's a chance that it might slow down your instance.
