Does anyone have experience using Merge Tags with email deliverability tools?

I'm using Email on Acid to create a Merge tag to track subscriber activity and provide segmentation analytics. Using the lead's email address is the best option to create the tag from. Email on Acid does not have an already existing merge tag for Marketo which means I need to create a custom tag. Does anyone have experience doing this?

I too would be interested in this. Almost every ESP/marketing automation platform was included EXCEPT Marketo. Due to the enhanced level of reporting that these other vendors provide, I really would like to leverage these capabilities outside of Marketo. I'd really appreciate it if Marketo can comment on this - specifically, what merge tags should we be using?
