Does anyone have an issue importing special characters into Marketo?

When we receive accented characters from lead list (like trade show leads) we often have issues importing these names/companies after converting to CSV. When Marketo encounters a field with these characters, it skips that field and imports nothing. The lead is still imported, but with no company or name.

I'm not sure if this is an Excel issue, a mac issue or a user issue (me). Has anyone else had these issues, and if so is there a better fix than manually checking lists for bad characters?

Hi Jace,

You want to save the list as an Unicode Text file not a csv file. It's the only way you can import special characters into Marketo.
