Does a trigger smart campaign run continuously?

Hey everyone, I'm a new Marketo user and hoping you can help me out.

I'm setting up a smart campaign to send a welcome email to new subscribers. I have the trigger for the smart list set as "fills out (either of the 2 signup forms), and the flow contains sending the welcome email.

I would like the email to go out as soon as the user fills out the form, so they get the welcome email right away. Once I activate the smart campaign, will that happen? I've only done "run once" smart campaigns before, so the schedule tab is different from what I'm used to.

Hi Brittany,
A trigger campaign is just that, an action that will trigger the campaign to run. It sounds like you have it set up properly. Anytime someone fills out a form, the campaign will be triggered to send the welcome email. A batch campaign, on the other hand, will send the email in a batch at a scheduled time (or recurring).

Brittany, to ensure that users receive this welcome email only once, you'll also want to set the Qualification Rules (within the schedule tab) to "run once" (and not "every time").

Hey Brittany, welcome to the community :)

+1 to what Kelly and Dan have shared. Also the one situation where a trigger campaign may not run continuously is if it has had nothing trigger it in the past 6 months. Marketo does a quarterly clean-up of such campaigns to speed up your instance:
