Simply curious.  I couldn't find any documentation on this, but perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place. Does anyone know?

Communication limits are not program oriented. They are simply time based. The limit is measured across any marketing email sent to a lead. Operational emails are not used to calculate the limit.

In the new program type (email) that was rolled out with the December release though, you have the option of approving the email program -- and then the send will happen automatically based on the time that was set.  However, there is no setting for turning communication limits on/off as with the batch smart campaigns you set up when you go to send an email in the default program type.  Does this mean that communications are off by default in the new email program?  If so, is there an option to turn them on?  Otherwise, this would mean that if we want to use communication limits to help control outbound email volume, it would be better to set up email sends via smart campaigns vs. using the new email program.

We plan on supporting Communicaiton limits for the Email Program in the January release.  At this time, this email send does not count towards the limit.

Hi Lynn,

It is not auto applied.  You can opt into it by going to the setup tab inside your email program. Hope this helps!
