Display value and stored value different is not working

I've tried this a couple of times, and not had success, so figured I'd pose this question to the community... If I use different values in the Display Value and Stored Value as described in section 4 of this article, my dropdown menu doesn't contain anything when display and stored values are not exactly the same. This has been an issue for a couple of things, but primarily state and country fields. 

Has anyone else had success with this working? Or is this something that should be updated in Marketo documentation?

Have you tried using the advanced editor to see if it works then? This sounds like a bug more than anything else--I would recommend opening a support ticket.

That's odd. It should work. Are you dropping this in on the screen above or using Advanced Editor?

Try dropping it in Advanced to see what happens. Then maybe open Support.
