Discrepancy between Email Dashboard Number and Program Member/Report

Hello! 

 

I haven’t really encountered this before and wanted to ask: I had sent out an email last week and in the email dashboard it says that the email sent to 1,000 people. However when I clicked on the member tab of the email program or when I create a smart list/email performance report with the was delivered email filter, the number was a lot higher, about 1,600. Any idea on what may be the cause of this discrepancy?

 

The email performance report number as well as the program member number and the smart list number are all the same, but it’s just the dashboard that is off.

Hi ​@John1-2 ! I used to work in Marketo Support and this is actually a somewhat common issue.

 

Darshil is correct that the Email dashboard can take up to 72 hours to fully propagate (See here), but sometimes there is a backend issue with the data propagation, and Support needs to re-aggregate the data on the back end. 

 

That sounds like what’s going on here, I recommend reaching out to Support and they should be able to assist.

I’ve seen cases where the Email Send program’s dashboard takes a while to update; however, it’s usually a few hours to 3-4 days in worst cases. I’d advise you to wait for a day or two if the email was sent late last week. Pls see this similar thread from the past. That being said, the numbers you’re seeing in Smart List and Email Performance should be accurate, as they’re fed from the Person activity log, which is updated in real time.

Hmm, it’s been almost a week already, I’ll give it till tomorrow and would the next step be to just open a ticket with Support to see what’s going on?
