Difference Between "Member" and "Engaged" in Engagement Engine?

Can someone help me understand the differences between "member" and "engaged" in an engagement engine program? When I add new contacts to an engagement program, I am asked if I want to add as a member or engaged? I just want to understand the differences and use cases.

Thanks,

Steve

A Member is anyone who qualifies or is added to the Engagement Program. Engaged is a Program Status that you define, usually in the Flow step.

Thanks Adam. Do you mind giving me a real life example of how engaged might be useful?

Appreciatively,

Maybe it's clicked a link in an email or leads who have responded to an email. It could even be a change of Lead Status or form completion that removes them from the Engagement program.
