Does anyone know the difference between the "Marketing User" and "Standard User" roles in the Marketo admin section?

Thanks!

Steve

Hi @Justin Cooperman, you and Scott K. Wilder answered the difference between Admin and Standard users but Stephen is asking about Standard vs Marketing users. To which, I still think there's no difference.

The difference, is what I mentioned. Standard User is a system role and cannot be modified or deleted. The Marketing User role can be deleted or modified because it is not a system role.

You can find some info here: Managing User Roles and Permissions - Marketo Docs - Product Docs

But this should help

  • Admin - all parts of the application, including the Admin section
  • Standard User - all parts of the application, except the Admin section

Thanks Scott,

I was looking at that document before, but this is what confused me.

  • Standard User - all parts of the application, except the Admin section
  • Marketing User - all parts of the application, except the Admin section

I am taking my MCE tomorrow and want to be sure I understand any differences in these roles.

Thanks again!

Steve

The only difference is that Admin and Standard User are system roles and cannot be modified or deleted. All others can. Besides that, no difference.
