Deleting an Unsubscribed Lead

If a lead who is unsubscribed is deleted from Marketo, does the email address remain in the master unsubscribed list? Does durable unsubscribe play a role here? Or is there a risk that if you delete an unsubscribed lead you could unwittingly import the same lead (from a list purchase, e.g.) without realizing she or he had unsubscribed?

The durable unsubscribe would work in this scenario. If the lead comes back into Marketo, Marketo will recognize the email address and auto-unsubscribe it.
