Does the "Created" date stamp for a Marketo lead reflect:

(1) the date when the lead with email address first entered the Marketo lead db, via a marketo form fill or list import?

(2) the date when the lead first visited the website anonymously, which might be many weeks or months before the lead first provided their email address via a Marketo form fill?

Hi Lyndon

Basically, Created date is when is that record created.
DIALOG edition is (1). because DIALOG unsupport anonymous recording.
SPARK/STANDARD/SELECT/ENTERPRISE are (2).

Hi Takehiro, looks like you are correct. A Marketo support engineer explained the difference between the following 2 Smart List filters, per the attached screen shot:

(1) "Created At" date reflects when a lead first entered the Marketo DB, potentially as an anonymous visitor long before their first Marketo form fill.

(2) "Lead was Created" date represents when the lead first become known via completion of a Marketo form fill.

That sound right to everyone?

Hi

I found this useful as there is no mention of it in the Marketo docs.

If you do follow the Marketo docs when creating a report it says to use the "lead Created At" in the setting. I have used it as a filter in the smart list and used it in the setting and I am getting different numbers. Have you had any experience with this?

Thanks

Takehiro, agreed - your suggested field name would be much clearer!
