Database Smart List not pulling correctly

Hi everyone,

We have a running smart list in the database of Marketo that pulls all records that reflect "Account Type is Customer = true". This information is used for a quarterly newsletter.

Right now, I'm noticing that all SFDC Contacts we have mapped to one particular account that *should* be populating in that smart list are not. Some contacts have opted out of emails, which would make sense, but most of them have not and they're still not populating in the list. I've checked the filters, made sure the account details in SFDC are right and still - no luck.

Any idea as to what may be happening? Is there a way to override this, or fix the smart list? I've tried refreshing, clearing cache, enabling/disabling sync... nothing seems to be working.

Thanks!

Jasmine,

You've verified in SFDC that their Account type is Customer, but did you verify their Account type in the person details section in Marketo?

Ha - that was precisely the problem. So strange because under 'Company Info' it says 'SFDC Type: Customer,' but when you navigate to 'SFDC Custom Fields' is does not have 'Account Type = Customer' checked. Which is odd because I *know* that that field is populated correctly in SFDC.

Is there a reason why it would not be syncing over correctly?

I would check the activity log and see the last time the contact was synced, it's possible it hasn't been synced since there was an error. I would, for now, check that field on the Marketo side so it populates your smart list.
