Data anonymization techniques

With GDPR implementation coming soon, we are taking steps to protect user data. We want to be able to use the Marketo ID as a key, but since it's hard to then add a filter or search by the Marketo ID (unless it's done one by one), we were looking into other options. Has anyone implemented another unique key or used Marketo ID's in a way that worked?
