Custom Object relationship to workspaces

Are custom objects created / accessible on an account level? Or are they unique to workspaces? I don't see an option to distinguish workspace in Describe Custom Object » Marketo Developer or Get List of Custom Objects » Marketo Developer so I'm a bit confused.

Custom Objects are universal and have nothing to do with WS.

Only assets and possibly leads can be segregated by Workspace and lead Partition.
