Custom Object is not Deleted from Back End

We've been trying to set up custom objects in Marketo. We had to delete an approved custom object yesterday so we could recreate it with "Links" to another object, and now it has disappeared from the UI but it's stuck in the backend, as we are unable to recreate the custom object with the same API name.

We're still able to perform a describe on the object using Postman: 

However, the "product_c" object no longer appears in the UI and we have no way of recreating the object.

What should we do?

The fastest solution is to recreated it with a different API name, but same Display Name. 

However, it is supposed to be permanently deleted, so - if you have a bit more time - I would open a support ticket so one of the support engineers can investigate.
